Pristionchus pacificus WIKI

This WIKI is hosted at the Department for Evolutionary Biology ,at the Max-Planck Institute for Developmental Biology, Tübingen, Germany.

Pristionchus pacificus is a nematode (roundworm) in the family Diplogastridae. Its last common ancestor with Caenorhabditis elegans lived 200-300 Mio years ago. Our lab has established Pristionchus pacificus as a second nematode model organism for biological research. Work on nematodes has a long scientific history and a large commmunity of researchers works on the classical nematode model organism Caenorhabditis elegans .
