Physical map
From Wikionchus
Background
The physical map (Srinivasan et al., 2003) is based on comparisons of fragment length profiles of BAC clones after HindIII and MseI digestion. Overlapping BAC clones give rise to a similar size distribution of digested fragments (fingerprints). This data has been integrated into a software FPC (Soderlund, 1997) to define overlapping fingerprints and to assemble contigs. Almost all of the BACs that contain the SSCP markers of the Genetic map are integrated into the physical mapped so that the SSCP markers are also linked to the FPC contigs.
How to use the physical map ?
The physical map data can be accessed via the cmap CMap web tool, which can be accessed via the Markers link on the main menu of pristionchus.org. A brief description, how data is organized in CMap can be found here cmap description.
