Getting started
From Wikionchus
For breeding Pristionchus you'll need:
- 6cm petri-dishes with NGM-agar
- OP50 cultures for feeding: spot the NGM-plates with 250-500 ul of an OP50 overnight culture (alternatively you can also try potatoes, rotten meat etc...).
- A dissecting microscope
- a worm pick: flatten the tip of some platin wire with a hammer and melt it into a glass pasteur pipette.
- an ethanol burner to sterilize your pick
- professional worm breeders have a room that has constant 20° C and incubators at 15°C and 25°C
