Catching wild animals

Pristionchus can be obtained from the wild quite easily...

or

• go out "in the wild" and get either beetles- preferably scarab beetles (like dung beetles or cockchafers) or some soil

• Take the beetles, sacrifice them by cutting in half with scissors

• put the dead beetles on petri dishes (6cm diameter) with NGMagar (if you don´t like insects you might just put a teaspoon of soil on a plate (10cm diameter))

• wait some days (sometimes I takes 3 days to one week)

then all of a sudden worms will show up

now you´ll have to identify them ( or ask Matthias to do so)
